The Living Gardens Team can now tell that there is a bite of cold in the air, however some prefer these working conditions as opposed to the blazing hot sun! Autumn is a great time of year to see colour change in leaves which can give a garden a totally different look. It’s also one of our favourite times of year to go for a walk, kicking through leaves as you do!

This month we were in Worsley, a lovely area in Greater Manchester. As with many new-build properties space is tight, especially in the gardens, this client was also having a new extension built directly into the ‘already tight for space’ garden. This is the kind of garden design that the Living Gardens team thrive on and it was our head of design Peter Cowell who devised the full design and plan, and we must all applaud his creativity shown.

The garden has many sharp angles, elongating the areas and making the most of the space. All of a sudden this small space, incorporated some big ideas and felt comfortably like a family size area. Bespoke walling, similar to the water feature we constructed at RHS Hampton Court 2013, is the real showpiece here with a stunning water feature, and beautifully matched with bespoke timber steps. The client was extremely pleased with the results as we are too.
